Yggdrasil Celebrates 2016 as Year of Prosperity

It seems that the year 2016 has been quite successful for the Malta-headquartered provider of online and mobile casino games Yggdrasil Gaming. The provider has managed to become one of the most-respected and reliable partners to a great number of operators such as bet365, Mr Green, bwin.party, LeoVegas, Betsson Group, Unibet, Cherry, etc.

In 2016, a lot of things happened to Yggdrasil. Starting from multiple games releases, obtaining operating licenses and inking a great number of partnership agreements to end with with posting massive increase in its revenues over the third fiscal quarter – here is a quick glance at Yggdrassil’s 2016.

Licenses

As mentioned above, Yggdrasil hit a number of milestones over 2016, including getting a number of operating licenses which helped it expand its market presence on a global scale.

UK License

In December 2015, the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) awarded the online and mobile gaming operator with an operating gaming license which allowed Yggdrasil to reach British customers with its proprietary gaming platform and offer them its vast range of high-quality games.

Then, at the end of March 2016, the company finally had its website live in the UK. Yggdrasil’s operations were officially made accessible to British players after the company completed a full roll out of its product portfolio. From the period from December 2015 to March 2016 Yggdrasil signed partnership agreements with six UK gaming operators, including Mr Green, LeoVegas, Betsson, Vera&John, Unibet and ComeOn.

Gibraltar License

In June 2016, the company was granted with another license. The Gibraltar Licensing Authority awarded it with a business-to-business remote gambling license. Thanks to that, Yggdrasil was given the opportunity to offer not only its gaming platform, but also its slots games to local gambling operators.

In addition, the supplier was allowed to host customers residing in the UK from its infrastructure in Gibraltar.

Romania License

A few months later, at the beginning of September 2016, the Malta-headquartered company got the approval of the National Gambling Office of Romania. The latter granted it with two operating licenses, which allow Yggdrasil to bring its slots portfolio to local licensed operators. In addition, it was given the opportunity to offer its promotional tools in Romania.

Deals

As mentioned above, Yggdrasil went live with six brands right after it was granted an operating license by the UK Gambling Commission. In December 2015, the company joined forces with three key brands operated under the BetClic Everest Group – BetClic, Monte Carlo Casino and Expekt. In addition, the great variety of Yggdrasil games also went live with Sunmaker, Casino Heroes and Kaboo.

At the beginning of February 2016, Yggdrasil inked a partnership deal with bet365, making its entire product range go live with the leading UK gambling company. The company’s slots went live with bet365 in August, following an integration process.

The gaming supplier announced not one, but two partnership deals within just in a few days. On June 17th, 2016 Yggdrasil officially announced that it had reached a content release deal with Interwetten, and on June 21st, the company finalised another partnership agreement, joining forces with bwin.party to supply it with the award-winning gaming portfolio.

In September, Yggdrasil Gaming announced that a gaming content agreement with the mobile casino company Casumo had been reached. Without absolutely no intention of slowing down its pace, the supplier revealed that it would see its award-winning content go live with the gaming platform and content supplier Tain in order to consolidate its presence on the market. On December 5th, Yggdrasil shared that another content deal had been signed with Gaming Innovation Group, expanding its list with partnerships even further.

Multiple Games Releases

Yggdrasil has taken its rightful place among the most successful online and mobile casino games providers on a global scale in 2016. The company has launched a dozen of qualitative video slots games, including Incinerator, Holmes and the Stolen Stones, Wicked Circus, Golden Monkey, Bicicleta, Legend of the White Snake Lady, Big Blox, Double Dragons, Empire Fortune, Super Heroes, etc.

But that is not all. Over the year, the company rolled out a number of additional features and options, providing its customers with a great variety of games and features to choose from. It also released additional jackpots in some of the newly-launched games, as well as a revolutionary white-label development studio.

Financial Results

When it comes to evaluating a company’s success, the financial results and overall market performance is definitely taken into account. So, considering the figures provided by the online and mobile casino games provider in its financial reports over the year, Yggdrasil has had more than an outstanding performance so far in 2016.

In May, the company presented its trading update for the first fiscal quarter of 2016, revealing a revenues increase of 519% to SEK 14.2 million. The supplier’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation also rose over the period, reaching SEK 7.9 million. Yggdrasil revealed flourishing growth in the overall number of player transactions over the period, saying they have increased by 922% year-on-year.

At the end of August, the company issued another financial report, confirming further growth over the first half of the current fiscal year. It said that its revenues over the period rose by 661%, while its operating profit also increased. The number of player transactions registered in the first six months of the year grew by 1,062%.

In November, the company posted its trading update for the third fiscal quarter, saying that its revenues for the period rose by 299%. There was also an increase in its EBITDA, as well as in the number of player transactions, with the latter rising by 427% year-on-year.

Awards

The efforts invested by the company in providing its customers with a great variety of software games and solutions have been greatly appreciated in 2016.

First, in February 2016, Yggdrasil Gaming won the iGaming Software Supplier of the Year at the 9th Edition of the International Gaming Awards. This was the first time when the company had been named in a event of such rank, after having a truly outstanding year in 2015 and continuing the trend in 2016.

Then, in June 2016 Yggdrasil was named Slot Provider of the Year at the EGR Business-to-Business Awards which took place in London. This was a great acknowledgement for the company, especially considering the fact that it comes to one of the most competitive categories – the one of video slots. The online and mobile casino games supplier managed to beat a total of nine other competitors, including some of the largest companies in the sector such as Microgaming, Playtech and IGT.

Conclusion

Apparently, there is one word that can properly describe Yggdrasil’s performance over 2016 – success. We are impatient to see the company’s full-year results that are to be officially announced in a few months, as well as its further accomplishments in the online and mobile casino gaming arena.
